“I’m sure that Alberto would say that it is “Alchemy”. However, the more time i am giving to these amplifiers the better that they sound. Obviously you would expect this with valve equipment, not so much solid state. Without doubt i find these the most engaging solid state amplifiers that i have ever heard. I would never have considered going back to solid state, as i find them too clinical, dry and cold. What Alberto has done with his GaNfet technology is remarkable. It is like an amalgamation of all the positives of thermionic valves & solid state topologies, but also discarding all of the negatives. They are a tad drier than D.H.T. equipment, but also add much more to the sonic equation than you could get with them alone. The challenge is to find upstream equipment that will give you the sound that you are looking for. Alberto deserves all the accolades that he receives. Superb technology, achieved correctly.”

“Hi - a couple of weeks ago dropped a frérot into my system (Extraudio Integrated Amplifier X250T Pure class AD + Pearl Acoustic Sibelius speakers), Greg at Val Hi FI said I should try one, well he really said the DAC-1 but that was out of my reach. I am aware of what a great dac can do and experienced such products from CAD (the best imho), Nagra and Antelope albeit at various hi fi shows. But largely thought that for my budget a dac is a dac. Not so, the frérot from my perspective is up there with the very best - the sound is detailed, engaging, wide (I mean really wide), enigmatic, delicate, rhythmic (yes it swings) and totally seductive. Not sure how you achieved all this in one package, but am so pleased you have. Big thanks.”

“I had made a decision, having turned 57yrs old in 2019 that l wanted to find my “end of game” loudspeaker and had been researching the replacement/upgrade loudspeakers for approximately seven months, basically l was slowly going mad, that feeling of going around in circles. Then in Sept 2020 l reconnected with Instagram, I noted Whole Note Distribution in my feed. The post highlighted Lu Kang loudspeakers, my curiosity was drawn to the exclusivity of the brand to the UK market and small family run business. I made future enquiries with WND and was sent a brochure regarding the loudspeakers and ultimately WND linked me with Greg Chapman of Val Hi-Fi and supplier of the Lu Kang range of speakers.
