Description
The original BS50 (the name is an acronym for "Boule en Staff de 50cm de diameter") was created for the first "sound and light" shows of the Château de Chambord and enabled the precise broadcasting of sound. From the studios at the Maison de la Radio to the most demanding audiophile shows, it was an exceptional solution, combining form and function with an iconic design.
To celebrate The 70th anniversary of Elipson, the BS50 Tribute is a reissue of this legendary model made from contemporary materials while preserving the acoustic sound qualities that set the original model apart from its competitors. More than housing superior musicality, audiophiles and mid-century design lovers will be able to bring this design classic home for the first time in decades.
The shell-shaped acoustic reflector that overhangs the speaker concentrates the sound waves before returning them to the listener. The coaxial loudspeaker placed at the top offers excellent timbre consistency and seamless homogeneity of the dampers.
A spherical housing with an internal resonator limits the internal vibrations likely to generate artificial colorations. With a generous 200mm diameter, the bass response is particularly effective, as the Elipson BS50 Tribute can go down to 40 Hz. perfectly defined high frequencies up to 20 kHz. Sensitivity is 92db so the BS50 Tribute is driven with ease.
