DESCRIPTION
The Elipson Legacy 3210 is a 2-way stand-mount bookshelf speaker, the smallest in the Legacy range. The design is based on the innovative developments of the past 60 years of the company’s history, taking ideas from models such as the La Religieuse speaker, the 4050 model and the 1303 model, and combining those with the superior materials and designs of today.
The Legacy 3210 is a 2-way speaker loaded with a 6½” mid-bass aluminium cone driver covered with a thin ceramic layer. This results in a cone that is lightweight, rigid and capable of moving air efficiently. It is coupled to a large voice coil driven by a powerful neodymium magnet for intense and responsive lows. It is astonishingly capable for a speaker of its size.
The high frequencies are supplied with a wide-dispersion Air Motion Transformer tweeter. The AMT driver uses multiple folds along its entire length to increase contact area with the air, plus to provide higher velocity at the reproduced frequencies. By pinching the air in between its folds, the speed of the expelled air is significantly improved, which betters the transient response.
The 3210 cabinet is made of 25mm MDF, covered with a wood veneer and has internal supports to strengthen the speaker and combat resonance. The side panels are not parallel and the front and rear edges are rounded so the circulation of the sound waves behind the drivers is improved.
The 3210 has a bass-reflex enclosure with a circular rear-firing port to extended low frequency response. To achieve maximum bass response the 3210 speakers need a minimum amount of space between the speaker and the rear wall.
The Legacy 3210 comes with a black, circular, fabric, speaker grille that’s held in place by a magnet system. It comes with 4 decoupling spikes and 4 counter-spikes for maximum stability.
